The Coat Hanger – Used on the very old mechanical slot machines that were operated by gears and pulleys. The cheat just stops the reels by interfering with the machine, making the machine not remember the amount of payouts and therefore keep paying out.

The Monkey Paw – Again this system is used by a lenght of wire with a hooked paw shape at the end. And when inserted into the payout shute and reaches the coin section, it causes the machine to over pay.

False Tokens – As machines advanced some slot machines were introduced using a token system. However the cheats soon found that by filing down certain coins they could still play the game. Or even attach a piece of string to the token and withdraw after each play. Today this is totally impossible as machines have a different way of accepting coins.

Lights – Another scam was to use a high intense light that would interfere with the main sensors on the slot machine and confuse the coin payout. Again this has now been safeguarded.

Al slot machines are now so much more advanced due to the high technology and computer software none of the above is possible. Unfortunately, there is always a cheat out there looking for a way to cheat slot machines. But cheating is just a fools game, and thankfully rare in this day and ages.
